The demand of international home textile market continues to be strong, and the export of our home textile products to major international markets continues to grow, with the highest growth rate to the U.S. market. The specific characteristics of China's home textile exports from January to May are as follows:

The scale of export reached a record high in the past five years

From January to may, China's domestic textile exports reached US $12.62 billion, an increase of 60.4% over the same period last year and 21.8% over the same period in 2019. The export scale reached a record high in the same period in the past five years. At the same time, the export of home textile products accounted for 11.2% of the total export of textile and clothing products, 43% higher than the growth rate of the overall export of textile and clothing, effectively driving the overall export growth of the industry. Among them, the export of bed products, carpets, towels, blankets and other major categories of products maintained a rapid growth, with an increase of more than 50%. The export growth of kitchen and dining table textiles was relatively stable, ranging from 35% to 40%.

The United States leads the recovery of international home textile market demand

In the first five months, the export of home textile products to the world's top 20 single country markets has maintained growth, of which the export to the U.S. market has the highest growth rate, with an export volume of US $4.15 billion, an increase of 75.4% over the same period of last year, an increase of 31.5% over the same period of 2019, accounting for 32.9% of the total export of home textile products.

The export growth rate of the top five provinces and cities was above 50%

The five provinces accounted for 82.5% of the total domestic textile export, and the export provinces and cities were relatively concentrated. Among other provinces and cities, the export of Tianjin, Hubei, Chongqing and Shaanxi provinces and cities increased rapidly, with the growth rate more than double.

Importers maintain optimistic sales expectations, environmental protection concept is more concerned by consumers

According to "Home Textiles Today" and other media reports, in the past 10 months, the retail enterprises of furniture, household goods and home decoration products in the United States have achieved unprecedented growth. From Williams Sonoma, Homedepot to Lowe's, all home furnishing retailers have raised their forecasts for the future, extending market expectations to 2022, and saying that the shopping spree after the epidemic may lead to a "prosperous 1920s" style consumption boom. According to the statistics of the Federation of American retailers, although the retail sales of the United States decreased in May compared with April due to the influence of the supply chain, it was still the second highest month since the organization had statistics.

In addition, environmental protection products are increasingly favored by consumers. Driven by this wave, a large-scale textile recycling project led by major U.S. retail enterprises and textile and clothing suppliers has entered the experimental operation stage. The project, funded by Wal Mart foundation and implemented by accelerating circulation Inc., aims to establish a recycling system of waste textiles from collection, classification, raw material pretreatment, fiber production, spinning, weaving, to product design, manufacturing, marketing and retail. The whole project will be the first complete large-scale textile recycling system to be implemented in the United States.
